Milton Pack Holiday - 2006

On Tuesday 1st August Milton Pack met up at St Michaels Centre, ready to go on their annual pack holiday to the Isle of Wight. After two trips back home because Pete had left something behind, we all set off in the Minibus, the Galaxy and Ginny's car.

"Are we there yet?"- "No, we haven't even got to Woodcote Green yet".

Two hours later we arrived at Southampton ready to catch the ferry to Cowes. After a brief toilet stop, why do Cubs have to go so often, we drove onto the ferry and an hour later we arrived in Cowes. A short ride on the chain ferry followed and we arrived at the hut where we were staying. Whilst Maggie and Julie went off to Tesco's to get our provisions for the week, Ginny and Pete took everyone else down to the Harbour for a look around. On the wayback we stopped off at the playground.

On Wednesday we went to Victoria Fort where we saw some sealife in the Aquarium, most of which can be found in the waters around the Island. This was followed by a talk from one of the Rangers at the fort and a brief woodlands and beach walk.

On Thursday we went to Robin Hill, where some of us got very wet, and some felt a little seasick on the boat ride.

On Friday we went to the Brading Experience, a wax works and exhibition of stuffed animals. After which we went to Sandown Beach, before returning to the hut ready for going into Cowes for the evening's fireworks, and a return trip to the playground.

On Saturday morning, after having packed up, we walked along to the pond to feed the ducks, only to find that the pond had dried up and there were no ducks to feed. We then returned to the hut, got in the Minibus etc and set off for the ferry and home.
