3rd Beddington Theatre Group pull out all the stops
With just 10 minutes to go before curtain up, there was a major power cut blacking out Milton Road and the surrounding area. Not wishing to cancel the show and disappoint the audience, which included 20 Guides and Leaders from 3rd Mitcham, Paul Goldsmith, Producer, set about finding alternative lighting and sound.
Batteries were requisitioned from the Church to power the CD player, Halogen Flood Lights from the Store and a parent, that was attending the show, ran an extension lead from their shed in Lavender Vale so that we had power for the flood lights.
In true wartime spirit the show did go on, and with a much shortened interval, the show finished just half an hour late to a rapturous applause.
